IRAK4 in Human Tonsil. IRAK4 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human tonsil using Rat Anti-Human IRAK4 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3919) at 5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # CTS013). Tissue was stained using the Anti-Rat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS017) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Background: IRAK4

IL-1 receptor-associated kinases (IRAKs) are serine/threonine kinases that help mediate signaling from Toll-like receptor (TLR) and IL-1 receptor family members. Four human IRAKs have been identified: IRAK1, IRAK2, IRAK-M, and IRAK4. Upon TLR ligand challenge, IRAK4 knockout mice exhibit severely impaired NF-kappa B activation. IRAK4 mutations have been described in patients with recurrent bacterial infections and poor inflammatory responses.
