Scientific Data
IL-2 binding to Human CD25/IL-2R alpha-transfected HEK293 Human Cell Line is Blocked by Human CD25/IL-2R alpha Antibody. In a functional flow cytometry test, Recombinant Human IL-2 Biotinylated protein (Catalog # BT202, 500 ng/mL) binds to HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with recombinant human CD25/IL-2R alpha (black dotted line). Binding is completely blocked (orange histogram) by 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human CD25/IL-2R alpha Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1020). Mouse IgG2A Isotype Control (Catalog # MAB003) at 0.5 µg/mL was used as a control (blue line). Ligand binding was detected by staining cells with APC-conjugated Streptavidin (Catalog # F0050).

Background: CD25/IL-2R alpha
IL-2 R alpha is a type I transmembrane protein that associates with IL-2 R beta and the common gamma chain to form a high affinity heterotrimeric receptor complex for IL-2. A soluble form of IL-2 R alpha has been detected in serum.
