The transforming growth factor-β family of polypeptides (TGF-β1-3) is involved with the regulation of cellular processes. These include division, differentiation, motility, adhesion, and death. TGF-β signals by binding the type II receptor (TGF-βRII). TGF-βRII activates the type I receptor (TGF-βRI).
