Background: SOX7

SOX7 belongs to the Sox (SRY-like HMG-box gene) family of transcription factors with diverse roles in development. SOX7 has been suggested to play a crucial role in parietal endoderm differentiation. SOX7 is expressed in many embryonic and adult tissues.
