Background: Nectin-3

Nectin-3, also known as poliovirus receptor-related 3, is a 95 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the Nectin family of Ig superfamily proteins. The extracellular domains of the Nectin family form cis-homodimers that are homophilic and heterophilic trans-interacting cell adhesion molecules, which play important roles in various cell-cell junctions. Mouse Nectin-3 extracellular domain shares 96% and 94% amino acid sequence identity with that of rat and human Nectin-3, respectively.
