Detects human FABP9/T‑FABP in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) FABP6 and rhFABP7 is observed and no cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) FABP4, rmFABP5, recombinant rat (rr) FABP1, rrFABP2, or rhFABP3.

Background: FABP9/T-FABP

FABP9, also known as Testis FABP (T-FABP), testis lipid binding protein (TLBP), and PERF15, belongs to the FABP family of cytoplasmic proteins that are expressed in a tissue-specific manner. FABPs bind fatty acid ligands with high-affinity and may be involved in modulating lipid metabolism. Mouse and rat FABP9 share 99% amino acid sequence identity.
