Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were stained with Mouse Anti-Human NCAM-1/CD56 APC-conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # FAB2408A) and either (A) Mouse Anti-Human NKG2A/CD159a Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1059) or (B) Mouse IgG2A Isotype Control (Catalog # MAB003) followed by Anti-Mouse IgG PE-conjugated secondary antibody (Catalog # F0101B). Detection of NKG2A/CD159a in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Human NKG2A/CD159a and eGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 Human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with either (A) Human NKG2A/CD159a, or (B) Human NKG2B/CD159b and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human NKG2A/CD159a Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1059) followed by APC-conjugated anti-Mouse IgG secondary antibody (Catalog # F0101B). Background: NKG2A/CD159a

NKG2A, also known as CD159a, is a type II transmembrane receptor having a single extracellular lectin-like domain and a cytoplasmic ITIM motif. It associates with CD94 and is expressed on NK cells and some activated T cell populations. The NKG2A/CD94 complex delivers an inhibitory signal upon recognition of its ligand, HLA-E.
