Scientific Data
Detection of Human and Rat PINCH1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of A549 human lung carcinoma cell line, WI-38 human lung fibroblast cell line, HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line, and NRK rat normal kidney cell line. PVDF Membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat PINCH1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6257) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). Specific bands were detected for PINCH1 at approximately 37-40 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 2.

Background: PINCH1
Particularly interesting new Cys-His protein 1 (PINCH1), also known as LIMS1 (LIM and senescent cell antigen-like-containing domain protein 1), is a 37‑40 kDa, widely expressed LIM-only protein. Human PINCH1 is 325 amino acids (aa) in length and contains a tandem array of five LIM domains. Within the region used as an immunogen, human PINCH1 shares 100% and 99% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat PINCH1, respectively. PINCH1 is an effector of integrin and growth factor signaling, coupling surface receptors to downstream signaling molecules involved in the regulation of cell survival, cell proliferation and cell differentiation.
