Sample Activation Kit 1 Summary

INTENDED USE & DESCRIPTION

Sample Activation Kit 1 (Part # 993078) offers convenient, premixed reagents for the activation of samples containing TGF-beta. The kit contains 3 vials of 1N HCL (Part # 895094, 10 mL/vial) and 3 vials of 1.2N NaOH/0.5M HEPES (Part # 895096, 10 mL/vial) for activation of samples in all of R&D Systems’ TGF-beta related products, including DuoSet® ELISA Development Systems and Quantikine® ELISAs, the Luminex® Performance Assays.

STORAGE & STABILITY

Store unopened at room temperature. Do not use past kit expiration. Stable for up to 30 days at room temperature after opening provided this is within the expiration date of the kit. Contains no preservatives.

PROCEDURE & EXPECTED VALUES

Follow activation procedure provided with each application. The kit contains reagents in quantities sufficient for 5 ELISA plates worth of samples. 

TECHNICAL HINTS & LIMITATIONS OF THE PROCEDURE 

  • Caution: May cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation. Avoid breathing fumes. Wear protective gloves, clothing, and eye and face protection. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Please refer to the MSDS on our website prior to use.

We use this in our lab along with the mouse TGF-beta ELISA kit. Activates the samples, straightforward to use, will yield enough for multiple plates.

20uL of rat plasma was acid activated with 10uL of 1N HCl for 10 mins at RT. Samples were neutralized with 10uL of 1.2N NaOH. non-acid treated plasma was tested at a 1:10 dilution and acid treated samples at 1:20.
