Recombinant Human ICAM-2/CD102 Fc Chimera Protein, CF Summary

Product Specifications

Purity
>95%, by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain
Endotoxin Level
<0.10 EU per 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Activity
Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of PMA-stimulated HSB2 human peripheral blood acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells. When 5 x 104 cells/well are added to rhICAM-2/Fc Chimera coated plates (12.5 µg/mL with 100 µL/well), >70% will adhere after 1 hour incubation at 37 °C.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.

Carrier Free

What does CF mean?

CF stands for Carrier Free (CF). We typically add Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a carrier protein to our recombinant proteins. Adding a carrier protein enhances protein stability, increases shelf-life, and allows the recombinant protein to be stored at a more dilute concentration. The carrier free version does not contain BSA.

What formulation is right for me?

In general, we advise purchasing the recombinant protein with BSA for use in cell or tissue culture, or as an ELISA standard. In contrast, the carrier free protein is recommended for applications, in which the presence of BSA could interfere.

Background: ICAM-2/CD102

Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-2 (ICAM-2, CD102), a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, binds the leukocyte integrins LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18). ICAM-2 is constitutively expressed at high levels on vascular endothelial cells and lymphohematopoietic cells. ICAM-2 mediated adhesion has been shown to provide a co-stimulatory signal for T cell aggregation, NK cytotoxicity and NK cell migration.
