Scientific Data
Detection of Mouse OLFM-L3 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of mouse skeletal muscle tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Rat Anti-Mouse OLFM-L3 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB7324) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band was detected for OLFM-L3 at approximately 46 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: OLFM-L3
OLFM-L3, also called OLF44, is an approximately 50 kDa secreted scaffolding glycoprotein of the Olfactomedin/Noelin family. It is predominantly expressed in the placenta and early embryo, but at low levels in the adult. In Xenopus it influences dorsoventral patterning during early development by restricting dorsal Chordin activity. Mature mouse OLFM-L3 shares 95% and 97% aa identity with human and mouse OLFM-L3, respectively.
