Background: Ly-6G (Gr-1)

The myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1, also known as Ly-6G, is a member of the Ly-6 family (1). The 1A8 antibody binds to Ly-6G while the RB6‑8C5 antibody also reacts weakly with Ly-6C-transfected EL4 cells (2). Ly-6G is a 21-25 kDa glycosyolphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein that is predominatly expressed in granulocytes in bone marrow.
