Scientific Data
Detection of TGR5/GPBAR1 in HEK293 Human Cell Line transfected with TGR5/GPBAR1 and EGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with (A) human TGR5/GPBAR1 or (B) irrelevant protein, and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human TGR5/GPBAR1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB4286) followed by Phycoerythrin-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG F(ab')2Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0102B). Quadrant markers were set based on Mouse IgG2BIsotype Control (Catalog # MAB0041). View our protocol for Staining Membrane-associated Proteins.

Background: TGR5/GPBAR1
G protein coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1), also called M-BAR, BG37 or TGR5, is a G-protein coupled receptor superfamily member that is a widely expressed cell surface receptor for bile acids. On macrophages, bile acid engagement of GPBAR1 suppresses phagocytosis and other functions. Extracellular portions of human GPBAR1 show approximately 75% amino acid identity with corresponding regions of mouse GPBAR1.
