SIRP beta 1/CD172b in U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cell line. SIRP beta 1/CD172b was detected in immersion fixed U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cell line (left panel; positive staining) and Daudi human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line (right panel; negative staining) using Mouse Anti-Human SIRP beta 1/CD172b Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB20961) at 8 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; Catalog # NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. Background: SIRP beta 1/CD172b

SIRP beta 1 is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the SIRP family within the Ig superfamily. Members of this family are characterized by an extracellular region containing a V-set Ig domain containing a J-like sequence and two C1-set Ig domains. Unlike SIRP alpha that has cytoplasmic ITIM domains, SIRP beta 1 possesses positively charged residues that allow association with ITAM motif containing adaptor molecules. SIRP beta 1 is expressed on cells of monocyte, macrophage or dendritic lineages.
