Detection of OCTN1/SLC22A4 in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Human OCTN1/SLC22A4 and eGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with (A) human OCTN1/SLC22A4 or (B) irrelevant protein, and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human OCTN1/SLC22A4 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB10985) followed by Allophycocyanin-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (F0101B). Quadrant markers were set based on Mouse IgG2A Isotype Control (MAB003, data not shown). Staining was performed using our Staining Membrane-associated Proteins protocol.

Background: OCTN1/SLC22A4
Polyspecific organic cation transporters are critical for elimination of many endogenous small organic cations as well as a wide array of drugs and environmental toxins. SLC22A4 is an organic cation transporter and integral plasma membrane protein containing eleven putative transmembrane domains as well as a nucleotide-binding site motif. Transport by SLC22A4 is at least partially ATP-dependent. SLC22A4 may play a role in Crohn's disease.
