Scientific Data
Detection of Recombinant Human IGF-I/IGF-1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows 25 ng of Recombinant Human IGF-I/IGF-1 (Catalog # 291-G1), Recombinant Mouse IGF-I/IGF-1 (Catalog # 791-MG), Recombinant Rat IGF-I/IGF-1 (Catalog # 4326-RG), and Recombinant Human IGF-II (Catalog # 292-G2). PVDF Membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human IGF-I/IGF-1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB291) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for IGF-I/IGF-1 at approximately 10 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 3.

Background: IGF-I/IGF-1
IGF-I/IGF-1 belongs to the family of insulin-like growth factors and circulates in complex with IGF binding proteins. It is a potent mitogenic growth factor that binds the heteromeric type I and type II IGF receptors. Essentially, all of the biological activities of IGF-I/IGF-1 are mediated by IGF-I R.
