September 2018 Go Everywhere with Bio-Techne Travel Grant Awarded to a Research Associate from Wayne State University!

Bio-Techne's Go Everywhere Travel Grant Program awards $1000 USD (or equivalent) to one researcher each month to attend the meeting of their choice. This grant program allows the researcher to attend more targeted meetings in their field and provides funding to support both small and large scientific associations that promote discovery and collaboration.

The recipient of the September 2018 grant is Dr. Samaresh Sau, a Research Associate in the Pharmaceutical Science department at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan (USA).

Dr. Samaresh Sau, a research assistant at Wayne State University is the September 2018 recipient of the Bio-Techne Go Everywhere Travel Grant

Samaresh has chosen to apply the grant to attend the AACR annual meeting 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia, March 29-April 3, 2019.

Dr. Samaresh Sau is currently a Senior Research Scientist in the Use‐Inspired Biomaterials & Integrated Nano Delivery (U‐BiND) Systems Laboratory, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, EACPHS, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, USA. He completed his Ph. D work from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, India. Dr. Sau worked as Post-Doctoral fellow with Prof. Philip S. Low, Purdue University, Indiana, USA and worked in collaboration with Endocyte. Inc, company, which was acquired by Novartis with $2.1 billion. He has multi-disciplinary experience of disease specific target evaluation; target specific drug design; developing nanoparticle drug delivery systems; and evaluating their efficacy in animal models. He is the author of >40 publications in high impact international journals and a lead inventor of 2-U.S. patents. Dr. Sau is a recipient of prestigious Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) Collaborative Research grant and co-investigator of U.S Department of Defense (DOD), and Michigan Translational Research and Commercialization (MTRAC) grant. Currently, he is working on immunotherapy, antibody drug conjugates, small molecule drug conjugate, and nanoparticle drug delivery system for cancer and antibiotic-resistant superbug infection with the highest goal of translating the technology in clinic.
