The recipient of the April 2018 grant is Linda Ban, a PhD Candidate in the Endocrinology department at the University of Sydney!
Linda has chosen to apply the grant to the ANZOS & Breakthrough Discoveries 2018 Joint Conference in Melbourne, Australia from October 16-18, 2018.
Linda Ban, a PhD Candidate at the University of Sydney is the April 2018 recipient of the Bio-Techne Go Everywhere Travel Grant.
Her research focuses on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) as a complication of obesity. She is working in rodent models to develop a better diagnostic strategy for NAFLD by exploring a novel biomarker candidate: extracellular vesicles. Linda’s work strives to determine if extracellular vesicles (EVs) can be utilized to detect the presence and severity of NAFLD before clinical symptoms start, providing a less invasive method of diagnosis in patients. She is also studying in vitro models of hepatic EV uptake. Linda has utilized several antibodies from R&D Systems in her research.
Bio-Techne and our brands are proud to support Linda's work and the work of many of the researchers that have applied to our travel grant program so far this year. If you are interested in applying for any of our travel grants, please go to www.rndsystems.com/travel.
